Factorization method in quantum mechanics

2008-05-09

Special problems from quantum mechanics that arise frequently in physics and chemistry can often be treated by the factorization method.

The book “Factorization method in quantum mechanics” of Dong Shi-Hai gives a comprehensive collection of important problems which is also of interest for non-specialists who are mainly interested in applications. As Giulio Landolfi (Lecce) points out in his review,

“The book can be generally addressed to graduate students and young researchers in physics, theoretical chemistry, applied mathematics and electrical engineering, that are looking for a collection of detailed treatments of some significant solvable problems in Quantum Mechanics, and/or for a good arena for concrete practicing on the application of the factorization method to second-order ordinary linear differential problems.”
